"Everyone has one on their back"

Films: Monkey Shines (1988)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average Capuchin Monkey.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Once again, the primate world is cursed with the intelligence of man, and the conflicting morality that comes with it. Still, there's no telling whether Ella was this unhinged in the first place, and the experiment was just an excuse to cut loose.

History: After a freak accident leaves Allan Mann a quadriplegic, he is given a companion in the form of Ella, a Capuchin monkey that has been injected with a steady supply of brain tissue. But Ella has more than a couple attachment issues, and anyone she deems an enemy to her and Mann's relationship is bound to die at her hands.

Notable Kills: Drops an electric appliance into a bathtub to electrocute Mann's domineering mother.

Final Fate: After Ella goes too far trying to kill Mann's love interest, he plays music to lure the monkey into a range so that he can literally bite down on her neck, thrash her around, and slam her into a wall, killing her.

Powers/Abilities: Amplified intelligence.

Weakness: Ella is lulled into a false sense of security by romantic music, anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Monkeys are already crafty little bastards at their worst, so now we have one who thinks like people. She kills like an assassin and has the possessiveness of a maniac. Not a good combination.

Trivia: -Ella was played by a monkey named Boo, with sound effects by Frank Welker.

-George Romero's original ending called for the other test monkeys getting injected, and taking over the mind of the scientist's boss.

As if that damn cymbal-banging demon wasn't bad enough, we have this spiel.

No need to scream. She already killed you 10 minutes ago.

Guess it's time to drop all pretenses.

What Ella wants, Ella gets.
